300 Housing Partners Now Participating in Connected for Success

TORONTO, Jan. 3, 2019 /CNW/ - Today, Rogers announced a new milestone for its pioneering Connected for Success program with its 300^th housing partner.

Launched in 2013 and the first program of its kind in Canada, Connected for Success offers low-cost, high-speed internet to subsidized tenants and members of housing partners across the Rogers cable footprint in Ontario, New Brunswick and Newfoundland. With 300 housing partners, over 200,000 households are eligible.

"Internet access has become essential for Canadians – it's a lifeline for staying in touch with friends and family and a critical tool for school and work," said Peter King, Senior Director, Corporate Social Responsibility, Rogers Communications. "These new partnerships will help us deliver high-speed internet to even more people so they can take advantage of all the opportunities in today's digital economy."

Rogers is also participating in the Government of Canada's Connecting Families initiative, which launched last month and offers the same service to eligible families who currently receive the maximum Canada Child Benefit. Connecting Families participants are randomly selected by the Government of Canada to participate in the program and receive a letter from the government with an access code needed to sign up for the program.
